How are you all doing?
Thought I would give you all an update on Life at the Green Witches Den….
In Australia it is now (since 1st September) classed as SPRING ~ all the things in the garden are starting to come alive ~ baby birds are a tweeting, new leaves on the shrubs, buds are bursting, blossom…um…blossoming!! The weather has been wonderful the past couple of days, but the wet weather has not ceased just yet. In fact it’s going to be raining most of this week ~ except Wednesday is going to be a balmy 21 degrees (Celsius), and I think Friday is supposed to be OK (so far)… It has been bitterly cold recently, so I am hoping for more blue skies and sunshine in the coming weeks…
We (Paul, Caetlyn and myself) went for a drive in the country side yesterday, just to get out of the city (And away from PEOPLE)…. It was a lovely day and it was great to get out of the car and let the wind knock the stuffiness out of my head… We took some pictures at the top of the Myponga Reservoir, overlooking the forests and the water…. it was totally breathtaking. The following pictures do not do it justice ~ it was far prettier with the naked eye!!
The first one is of the the left hand side of the Reservoir flanked by the forrest ~ we got to drive over the very thin bridge, which Paul enjoyed immensely.. The second one is of the right hand side of the Reservoir…it looked a lot greener with the naked eye… The third one is of Paul fooling around ~ we saw this sign on the lookout that read “WARNING KEEP OUT ~ If you are on this ground without authority you are trespassing”.…but it is a lookout for people to stop to see the view!! So we thought it would be funny if he stood on the ground above the sign…LOL.. (OK, inside joke and maybe you had to be there…LOL).
We all slept very well last night and woke up pretty bright (and early for a Sunday)…
I am so looking forward to the more “SPRING’ish) weather as I want to start riding my bike to work for the exercise. Paul and I really need to lose 20 kilos each (me for my back to stop hurting so much & Paul for the pain from his industrial injury to decrease), but we find it gee-darn impossible to do so in Winter…though in this season we did have a breakthrough ~ we all found that we were lacking in Vitamin D. We have been taking a supplement for a couple of weeks now and we have started to feel a lot better within ourselves, with not so much depression and anxiety ~ so we have decided each Winter to take vitamin D supplements so we don’t get the Winter Blues (or SAD = Seasonal Affective Disorder) Paul and I are also taking Probiotics for our gut health, something we are looking into so that we can get our stomachs sorted out, which will help in the weight loss. I have also got an issue with my thyroid that I have to sort out as well…. I am going to do this naturally with diet, exercise and essential oils. Caetlyn is so lucky that she doesn’t have excess weight to take off….I think I will just watch her eat and pretend I am eating too…LOL…though she does need to get fitter too… Maybe we will be able to get her on her bike this year……????
Paul and I did ride our bikes (OR Acoustic Motorcycle as Paul calls it) for a short ride yesterday ~ just to start us off…I think he prefers his Harley Davidson to the bicycle..hahahaha….
In the warmer months I will also be able to do more juice fasting and eating raw foods ~ which I always feel better on!
We are also trying to cut out as much JUNK-FOOD/Processed Food as possible, as we have been relying on it when we have been too tired to cook. But The Great GHOULINI is back in the kitchen and coming up with some amazing recipes to tantalise our tastebuds with.
I have also updated my site for the spring – making it a little bit different (not much as I find it hard to change things behind the scenes ~ definitely not user friendly, especially if you have no knowledge of computer things!!
So hopefully it will look OK…
Anyway – best be off, I have chores to do on this lovely Sunday, ready for the week ahead.
I hope you all have a wonderful week with many blessings!!
