Here is a green smoothie that will knock your immune system into gear….

I’m using this one for breakfast at the moment as I need to build my immune system before the winter months set in so that I don’t get sick.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Cup of Spinach (I use baby spinach), celery, melon, banana, ginger, raw pepitas (pumpkin seeds), cranberries, raw almonds, oat milk (you can use water, coconut water, soya milk, OJ – whatever takes your fancy!!)

EXTRAS: I use 1/2 teaspoon of Spirulina and 1/2 teaspoon of Wheat Grass powder for that extra oomph!!

METHOD:

Put everything into your blender or NutriBullet and whiz it up…do a little dance, or sing a song as it whirls away….then PRESTO – you have your incredibly delicious and vibrantly healthy GREEN SMOOTHIE…

Basically, you can put any greens or fruit into your smoothie – just make sure you have 1/2 vegetable matter, 1/2 fruit matter – that way you are keeping a lovely balance of nutrients for your body to work with.

For those of you who lack iron – this will give you so much that you won’t have to take any iron supplements, and it is healthier and more easily assimilated than a processed tablet.  It is also a good drink for your liver…for an extra bonus – add bitter herbs like dandelion which will help promote good liver health.
